DAY 15 – WHAT TO DO WHEN I’M DESPERATE FOR GOD’S HELP

    By Andrew Farland

No matter how much you despair, take comfort: you are never alone.
    Psalm 42:3
“Day and night my tears keep falling and my heart keeps crying for your help…”

I acknowledge my need for God’s help.
    Psalm 42:2
“I want to come to see the face of God.”

I remind myself of God’s faithful track record.
    Psalm 42:4
“Remember when you use to be out front leading the procession of praise?.. So then my soul, would you be depressed. Yet
I will still remember you as I ponder…”

I speak over my heart-broken soul in Faith.
    Psalm 42:4b
“I will say to God “You are my mountain of strength, how could you forget me?”

I remember joy comes from God’s presence alone.
    Psalm 42:6
“Yes living before His face is my saving grace.”

Today if you are going through a hard time, know that I’m praying for you!
    Isaiah 58:9
“Then you will call and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help and He will say, “Here I am.”

  • DAY 14 – DRIFTING AWAY FROM GOD

DAY 14 – DRIFTING AWAY FROM GOD

    By Pastor Andrew Farland

If you feel like you’ve drifted from God, getting back is as simple as making one decision!
    John 6:37
“…whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”
You might feel like you can never forgive yourself for what you’ve done, but God can. In fact, the Bible teaches us that God takes our sin and drops it to the ocean’s floor never to be seen again!
The prodigal son ran away from home and lived foolishly. But at a certain time, he came to his senses. He couldn’t imagine ever being accepted back as a son. So he went home thinking he would be his dad’s slave just to earn a meal.
But as he walked back home with his shoulders down, His father RAN to him with his arms up! SO EXCITED to see his long-lost son again. His dad wasn’t thinking about all the wrong he did. He didn’t start blaming him… Why? He was too busy embracing Him!
That’s the heart of a Father, and that’s exactly how God welcomes us back when WE come to our senses and realize how far we’ve strayed. So today, right now, don’t fall into the trap of guilt and condemnation. Realize where you are isn’t where you need OR want to be, and simply come back to Him. You are ONE decision away from being back home.
    Come back.

    1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and WILL forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness”

  • DAY 13 – GOD NEVER PERMITS YOU TO BE AFRAID

DAY 13 – GOD NEVER PERMITS YOU TO BE AFRAID

    By Pastor Andrew Farland

Many times during the day, whether you know it or not, the devil is knocking at your door. He’s trying to bring you “gifts” of confusion, worry, guilt, and fear. But just like many other situations, if you don’t receive it, it’s not yours.

Did you know that there is not ONE time in the bible where God tells you to fear? Why is that? Because God’s perfect love has no fear in it!

So today, with God’s love for you in mind, make a decision that you won’t answer the door when fear comes knocking! Whether it’s fear of where your next meal will come from or the fear of what the future holds. Remember that your God holds the whole world in His hands and He loves you!

    John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do NOT let your hearts be troubled and do NOT be afraid.”

Be encouraged today because God is with you.

  • DAY 12 – CARRY YOUR OWN LOAD

DAY 12 – CARRY YOUR OWN LOAD

    By Pastor Andrew Farland

One time on a mission trip, I got in an argument with another leader and I didn’t know how to resolve it. The only thing I could think about was how horrible that person was and how wrong they were!
That night, as my head was on the pillow I knew I didn’t wanna go to bed mad “giving a foothold to the devil” so I got out of bed to talk. I went to the living room and prayed, “God, give me wisdom” I was desperate to figure it all out, but still unsure of what to do.
Right then, I opened my bible and the first thing I read was
    Galatians 6:4-5 says:
“Each one should test their OWN actions… for each one should carry their OWN load.”

At that moment I heard the whisper of the Holy Spirit…
“Andrew, get up and be the FIRST to apologize. If you want to be a leader you are going to need to learn to be humble and go first, take care of your own load. Don’t wait for her to apologize, and don’t expect her to.”
At that moment I got up from the dining room table and whispered to the other leader, “are you awake?” she responded, “Wow that was weird, I was asleep and then I heard God tell me to wake up!”
At this moment, I had complete peace and I was able to apologize for what I did, said, and felt.
What came after this I never expected….

She started crying and told me “I have never had a male authority figure in my life apologize to me”
Because I was responsible to carry my OWN load and tested my actions first, there was a breakthrough and a peaceful night’s sleep. Us talking and understanding each other also brought us closer together as friends and leaders.

Is there someone you’ve had an argument or falling out with lately? Take the first step. Stay humble and take responsibility for your actions. Humility is one of the most powerful spiritual weapons we possess. It can mend a relationship, save a marriage and ultimately change the world.

    Galatians 6:4-5
“Each one should test their own actions…each one should carry their own load.”

Be encouraged today because God is with you.
