When we go on a road trip, we usually know where we’re headed and we follow the directions to get to our destination.
When we trust God, we know where we’re going. But, because we are humans and our faith is set in things that are unseen, we can easily get discouraged when the fog sets in. We can think to ourselves, “Why did we leave in the first place?” or, “What’s taking so long. Let’s go back!”
In the Old Testament, we read about the Israelites, a group of people God rescued out of slavery in Egypt. After they were freed, and they had to journey a long distance, the Bible tells us that the Israelites started complaining. They were hungry and tired and they wanted to go back to their lives as slaves because at least they would have food to eat. Think about that for a second. Why in the world would anyone want to go back to a life of slavery?!
But, maybe that’s where you are today. The setbacks are becoming too big and you’re thinking it’s time to go back. Let me assure you: When you put your faith in Him and have a conviction in your heart that He is there, He sets your eyes on things unseen and the fog begins to lift.
So, keep the faith. Your breakthrough is right around the corner.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Be encouraged today because God is with you.
