  • Day 179 Hearing God’s Voice

    Day 179 Hearing God’s Voice

    Author: Pastor Andrew Farland

If you are like me, trying to understand God’s purpose for your life, it can be challenging to distinguish your thoughts from those of God’s. Deciding whether to take the leap and start your own business, pursue a serious relationship, or wait before making a career shift can be difficult.

I could tell you what the experts say in their best-selling self-help or business books, but that’s not good enough. What do you need to do? Learn to hear the voice of God over the voice of the world or your intuition. Today, I want to give you a three-step process for beginning to hear God’s leading in your life.

    1. Spend some time reading the Bible. Even if it’s just a little bit, if you start seeking guidance, God will help you. The Bible is the primary way to activate our relationship with Him. The best part about knowing what God says in His word is that you can test your ideas and potential decisions against Scripture. If your idea doesn’t align with God’s truth, you can be confident for it’s not in the right direction.
    2. “Pay attention to the company you keep. Some people believe, you can judge a person’s character based on the people they choose to surround themselves with. The same principle applies to discerning God’s will for your life. By spending time with others who share your faith and values, you can evaluate your ideas, thoughts, and dreams against their perspective and determine whether they align with the truth.”
    3. “Take some time to be silent. I have given you many instructions on what to do and what to talk about. However, I also want to remind you that sometimes it’s important to refrain from talking and listen. Hear what God may be trying to say to you, pause and listen carefully. Maybe you have been so busy talking that you didn’t hear Him. So, take a moment to be silent and listen to what He has to say.”

The book of James explains that when we approach God, He draws near to us. As you start seeking God’s guidance in your life, have faith that He will reveal Himself to you, even if you don’t hear from Him immediately.

“Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart!” (Hebrews 4:7)

  • Day 178 Connection For Direction

    Day 178 Connection For Direction

    Author: Pastor Andrew Farland

Sometimes, we question whether we are on the right path in life. We ponder, Is this what God intends for me? Am I being guided in this direction, or is it purely my selfish desire?

We ask these questions about our relationships, our careers, or where we live. We ask them about our mundane, daily activities.

The best guidance comes from connecting with God, but we often rely on intuition.

“Remember this for today to have direction in life, for it’s essential to connect with the One! who knows us and has given us unique gifts to build His kingdom. Prioritize building a strong relationship with God. This relationship will give us the confidence to move forward in this direction.”

“If you and I do not have a connection, we will always experience misdirection.”The enemy is the best at convincing us to do the right thing even when we aren’t. He tempts us into making selfish decisions, unethical business choices or pursuing an unhealthy relationship. He has been misdirecting people and continues to prey on unsuspecting people.

How do you avoid misdirection from the evil one? Connect with God. How can you be confident that you’re not listening to your instinct? Connect with God.

The book of James says that when we draw near to God, He draws near to us. He also says that when you and I ask God for wisdom, He generously gives it away. Because I believe the Bible is trustworthy and what God says is true, I firmly believe that! He wants you to ask Him for guidance. So, today, if you find yourself in a place where you need more purpose, spend a moment reconnecting with God by praying these words:

“Dear Father, I apologize for pursuing my dreams without consulting you first. Please guide me towards the path you have chosen for me.”

I am confident He will clear a path in front of you.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

  • Day 177 God Will Come Through For You

Day 177 God Will Come Through For You

    Author: Pastor Andrew Farland

Are you tired of waiting on God?

Does it feel like He’s never going to come through for you?

Are you waiting for your next chapter while begging for this painful time to end?

Are you sick and tired of The pain, the depression, the anxiety and the restlessness? If so, you can relate to Moses. Moses was in Midian for 40 years after ruthlessly getting kicked out of Egypt. At that point, he probably thought God had abandoned him and that he would never have any purpose again.
    Here’s some simple math:

The 40 years is close to 14,600 days. That’s 14,600 mornings, afternoons and evenings waiting for God. After 14,600 days, he still wonders if God will ever come through for him. “I have spent 14,600 nights feeling hopeless and without purpose.” But Moses didn’t quit.

On the 14,601st morning, on a seemingly ordinary day, God showed up to Moses in a BURNING BUSH and revealed His plan for his life. Woah.

The only thing crazier than this was that the bush didn’t burn up. Do you know why? Because God was in the centre of it. “Just like How God was still at the centre of Moses’ life.”

Have you been waiting a week for God to show up? How about a month or a year? Try 40.

For 14,600 days, Moses took care of his father-in-law’s sheep, even though they weren’t his own. It couldn’t have been easy, especially since his father-in-law was also his boss. It’s interesting to consider why God included this story in the Bible and what we can learn from it today. Specifically! Why? was it vital for Moses to wait 40 years before beginning his true calling?

“God knew that even you would have the same questions as Moses did”. When is this going to end? Is this how it’s going to be forever? What’s my purpose? Does God love me? Am I enough? AM I LOVED?

Here’s the point: God can and WILL show up at just the right time! You are right in the centre of His faithfulness. There’s hope for you today! Keep trusting God by believing and doing good to those around you! God will show up! Hopefully, it won’t take 14,600 days for God to come through for you, but even if it does, He’s still faithful. He knows just what you need. Be patient. Be thankful. Soak up the joy that today can bring in the presence of your Savior!

“One day! Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. There, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. [Exodus 3:1-2]

  • Day 176 The Gardener

    Day 176 The Gardener

    Author: Pastor Andrew Farland

After Jesus had been dead for three days and His body had been placed in a tomb, two women went to check on Him. When they arrived, they discovered that Jesus was no longer in the tomb, and an angel appeared to them. The angel informed them that Jesus had risen from the dead.

The two women were excited and confused as they sprinted to tell the disciples what they had just seen. On their way, they encountered a man who appeared to be a regular gardener, but upon approaching him, they noticed the scars on his wrists and realized that it was the same man they had followed for years: Jesus. He was standing in front of them, alive.

It was a moment filled with joy, tears, and hugs. The irony of the situation was beautiful – the man they mistook for the gardener was Jesus, who had been present with God the Father at the beginning of time. God created the Garden of Eden through Jesus. This was where Adam and Eve lived in a perfect relationship with each other and with God. The Bible says that God even walked in the garden in the cool of the evening.

Here’s why the meeting with Jesus was so powerful.

“When Jesus rose from the dead, He defeated death – the very consequence of the sin that led Adam and Eve to be driven out of the Garden of Eden. In a way, they had seen the gardener, but Jesus was the only one who could bring them back into a perfect relationship with their creator.”

I hope you get your time to experience Jesus, the son of God, who defeated death so that we could have eternal life and build God’s kingdom on earth without fear of the enemy. You can be confident in this today. Nothing can stand against you because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us!

“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.” (Colossians 1:13)
