By Pastor Andrew Farland
Have you ever felt like you had an impossible climb ahead of you? Have you ever felt lost without the direction to take a forward step? Do you feel that way right now?
If so, I completely understand. When I am in a season of depression, I feel like every attempt at improvement is useless because I’m just going to wake up the next day feeling terrible.
Something I know to be true is that the enemy can get into our heads. He can make us feel inadequate and take us down a dark road mentally and emotionally. The enemy knows our triggers and how to steer our thoughts away from God.
When it comes to our depression and anxiety, He convinces us that it’s the way we are and makes us believe the lie that we are never going to get better.
If you are feeling that kind of discouragement today, I assure you that you are further along than you think! You are better than the enemy says you are. You are moving forward even it feels like you aren’t.
I heard a Pastor say once that “crazy people don’t know they’re crazy.”
Think about those words for a second. The people who never get better are the ones who aren’t self-aware enough to seek help. The fact that you are reading this, the fact that you know your issues and are dealing with them, means you can have hope that things will get better.
In other words, if you were crazy, you wouldn’t know you’re crazy! Be thankful for the work that God has already started.
Jeremiah 30:17
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord.”
Be encouraged today because God is with you.
