Are you tired of waiting on God?
Does it feel like He’s never going to come through for you?
Are you waiting for your next chapter while begging for this painful time to end?
Are you sick and tired of The pain, the depression, the anxiety and the restlessness? If so, you can relate to Moses. Moses was in Midian for 40 years after ruthlessly getting kicked out of Egypt. At that point, he probably thought God had abandoned him and that he would never have any purpose again.
Here’s some simple math:
The 40 years is close to 14,600 days. That’s 14,600 mornings, afternoons and evenings waiting for God. After 14,600 days, he still wonders if God will ever come through for him. “I have spent 14,600 nights feeling hopeless and without purpose.” But Moses didn’t quit.
On the 14,601st morning, on a seemingly ordinary day, God showed up to Moses in a BURNING BUSH and revealed His plan for his life. Woah.
The only thing crazier than this was that the bush didn’t burn up. Do you know why? Because God was in the centre of it. “Just like How God was still at the centre of Moses’ life.”
Have you been waiting a week for God to show up? How about a month or a year? Try 40.
For 14,600 days, Moses took care of his father-in-law’s sheep, even though they weren’t his own. It couldn’t have been easy, especially since his father-in-law was also his boss. It’s interesting to consider why God included this story in the Bible and what we can learn from it today. Specifically! Why? was it vital for Moses to wait 40 years before beginning his true calling?
“God knew that even you would have the same questions as Moses did”. When is this going to end? Is this how it’s going to be forever? What’s my purpose? Does God love me? Am I enough? AM I LOVED?
Here’s the point: God can and WILL show up at just the right time! You are right in the centre of His faithfulness. There’s hope for you today! Keep trusting God by believing and doing good to those around you! God will show up! Hopefully, it won’t take 14,600 days for God to come through for you, but even if it does, He’s still faithful. He knows just what you need. Be patient. Be thankful. Soak up the joy that today can bring in the presence of your Savior!
“One day! Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. There, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. [Exodus 3:1-2]
