Deuteronomy 29:29 says “The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.”

God knows you intimately. He formed you in your mother’s womb and knows the amount of hairs on your head. He knows your fears and insecurities and your dreams and aspirations. The creator of the universe knows you and loves you unconditionally.

Because He knows you personally, there will be times when He reveals a truth about Himself just for you. It might be through His Word or the voice of a friend. It might be through nature or a podcast you may listen to on a road trip. Whatever way God speaks to you, it’s important to remember those words from Deuteronomy. He has revealed it to us so that we may obey.

God speaks to us not to make us feel more special than everyone else. He gives us truth because He wants us to become more like the person He created us to be.

Today, I challenge you to be introspective for a moment. Has God been teaching you anything lately? Have sermons at church been challenging you to move in a positive direction? Have you been reading Scriptures that motivate you in a specific way? If so, spend some time thinking about the fact that God reveals truth to inspire action. He speaks to us so that we will obey.

What is God moving you to do? What he is telling you to do will make an impact on the lives of future generations.

Don’t back away from it. Faith is standing firm in what God says in every area and situation of your life. Take hold of God’s promise, keep it forever, and become the man or woman God made you to be.

“Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.” (Exodus 19:5)
