When was the last time you rested?

When was the last time you took time to just breathe and pay attention to the world around you?

In this life, it is easy to get so caught up checking things off of our lists that we forget… to just be. We forget to pause and spend time that is free from an agenda, time in which we are still and open to whatever God wants to tell us.

One of my friends said recently, “I’ve noticed that God’s desire isn’t for us to go out and accomplish for the kingdom but to allow God to bring all of His divine appointments to us!”

Think for a second about the power of those words. Instead of going, doing, and acting, God might be asking His sons and daughters to stop, sit, breathe, and just be.

I was reminded today of
Matthew 6:33
that says, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you.”
In other words, if we are willing to lay our agendas down to make our daily plans more about seeking God, He will faithfully speak to us.

He will guide and lead us in His direction if we take the time to listen.

If we don’t do this exercise, the danger is that we never align with the authenticity, purity of heart, and motive that God wants to create within each of us. Do I hear an audible voice of God every time I stop to listen? No. But I sense His presence and feel His direction.

So, trust that as you begin to take time to stop and listen, God is working behind the scenes to bring His divine appointments your way!

Today, remember that God already has a path set for you, and the more you submit… and just be… the more He will be able to reveal to you.

Proverbs 3:6
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.

Be encouraged today because God is with you.
