How do you experience the death of a loved one?
God knows you will experience grief in this life, but you’re not meant to go through it alone. He wants you to seek comfort. “Blessed are they that mourn,” Taught Jesus, “for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).
In Job 19:25-27, we study
I know that there is someone to defend me and that he lives! And in the end, he will stand here on earth and defend me. After I leave my body and my skin has been destroyed, I know I will still see God. I will see with my own eyes. I myself, not someone else, will see God. And I cannot tell you how excited that makes me feel!
In John 11:25-27, tells us
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection. I am the life. Everyone who believes in me will have life, even if they die. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never really die. Martha, do you believe this?” she answered “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God. You are the one who was coming to the world.”
John 14: 1-7, we see how Jesus comforts his followers
Jesus said, “Don’t be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you with me, so that you can be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. “Thomas said, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth and the life. The only way to the Father is through me. If you really know me, you would know my Father too. But now you know the Father. You have seen him.
Romans 8: 31-39, teach us
If God is for us, no one can stand against us. And God is with us. He even let his own Son suffer for us. God gave his son for all of us. So now with Jesus, God will surely give us all things. Who can accuse the people God has chosen? No one! God is the one who makes them right. Who can say that God’s people are guilty? No one! Christ Jesus died for us, but that is not all. He was also raised from death. And now he is at God’s right side, speaking to him for us. Can anything separate us from Christ’s love? Can trouble or problems or persecution separate us from his love? If we have no food or clothes or face danger or even death, will that separate us from his love? As the scripture say, “For you we are in danger of death all the time. People think we are worth no more than sheep to be killed. But in all these troubles we have complete victory through God, who has shown his love for us. Yes, I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love-not death, life, angels or ruling spirits. I am sure that nothing now, nothing below us- nothing in the whole created world-will ever be able to separate us from the love God has shown us in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 14:7-9, we see
We don’t live or die just for ourselves. If we live, we are living for the Lord. And if we die, we are dying for the Lord. So living or dying, we belong to the Lord. That is why Christ died and rose from death to live again-so that he could be Lord over those who have died and those who are living.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, we study
Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about those who have died. We don’t want you to be sad like other people-those who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died, but we also believe that God will rise to life through Jesus any who have died and bring them together with him, when he comes. What we tell you now is the Lord’s own message. Those of us who are still living when the Lord comes again will join him, but not before those who have already died. The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the people who have died and were in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive at that time will be gathered up with those who have died. We will be taken up in the clouds and meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words.
