  • Do not be Angry?

    Do not be Angry?

Anger is an intense emotional state involving a strong, uncomfortable and non-cooperative response to a perceived provocation, hurt, or threat. Proverbs 15:1 says a gentle answer makes anger disappear, but a rough answer makes it grow.

In Matthew 5: 21-24, Jesus teaches about anger
You must not murder anyone. Any person who commits murder will be judged.’ But I tell you, don’t be angry with anyone. If you are angry with others, you will be judged. And if you insult someone, you will be judged by the high court. And if you call someone a fool, you will be in danger of the fire of hell. “So, what if you are offering your gift at the altar and remember that someone has something against you? Leave your gift there and go make peace with that person. Then come and offer your gift.

    Romans 12: 17-21, tells us
If someone does you wrong, don’t try to pay them back by hurting them. Try to do what everyone thinks is right. Do the best you can to live in peace with everyone. My friends don’t try to punish anyone who does wrong to you. Wait for God to punish them with his anger. It is written: “I am the one who punishes; I will pay people back, “says the Lord. But you should do this: If you have enemies who are hungry, give them something to eat. If you have enemies who are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this you will make them feel ashamed.” Proverbs 25:21 22 don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil by doing good.

    Ephesians 4:26-32, explains
“When you are angry, don’t let that anger make you sin,” and don’t stay angry all day. Don’t give the devil a way to defeat you. Whoever has been stealing must stop it and start working. They must use their hands for doing something good. Then they will have something to share with those who are poor. When you talk, don’t say anything bad. But say the good things that people need whatever will help them grow stronger. Then what you say will be a blessing to those who hear you. And don’t make the Holy Spirit* sad. God gave you his Spirit as proof that you belong to him and that he will keep you safe until the day he makes you free. Never be bitter, angry, or mad. Never shout angrily or say things to hurt others. Never do anything evil. Be kind and loving to each other. Forgive each other the same as God forgave you through Christ.

My dear brothers and sisters always are more willing to listen than to speak. Keep control of your anger. Anger does not help you live the way God wants. So get rid of everything evil in your lives every kind of wrong you do. Be humble and accept God’s teaching that is planted in your hearts. This teaching can save you (James 1: 19-21).

  • Do not be afraid of Death

Do not be afraid of Death

Death is the end of life; the irreversible cessation of all biological functions that sustain a living organism. Death eventually and inevitably occurs in all organisms.

Let’s see what 2 Corinthians 5, 1-10 tells us about death?
We know that our body, the tent we live in here on earth, will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will have a home for us to live in. It will not be the kind of home people build here. It will be a home in heaven that will continue forever. But now we are tired of this body. We want God to give us our heavenly home. It will clothe us, and we will not be naked. While we live in this tent, we have burdens, and so we complain. I don’t mean that we want to remove this tent, but we want to be clothed in our heavenly home. Then this body that dies will be covered with life. This is what God himself made us for. And he has given us the Spirit as the first payment to guarantee the life to come. So we always have confidence.

    Romans 8:18-30 teaches us
We have sufferings now, but these are nothing compared to the great glory that will be given to us. Everything that God made is waiting with excitement for the time when he will show the world who his children are. The whole world wants very much for that to happen. Everything God made was allowed to become like something that cannot fulfill its purpose. That was not its choice, but God made it happen with this hope: that creation would be made free from ruin, that everything God made would have the same freedom and glory that belongs to God’s children. We know that everything God made has been waiting until now in pain like a woman ready to give birth to a child. Not only the world, but we have also been waiting with pain inside us. We have the Spirit* as the first part of God’s promise. So we are waiting for God to finish making us his own children. I mean we are waiting for our bodies to be made free. We were saved to have this hope. If we can see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People don’t hope for something they already have. But we are hoping for something we don’t have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently. Also, the Spirit helps us. We are very weak, but the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We don’t know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself speaks to God for us. He begs God for us, speaking to him with feelings too deep for words. God already knows our deepest thoughts. And he understands what the Spirit is saying, because the Spirit speaks for his people in a way that agrees with what God wants. We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. These are the people God chose, because that was his plan. God knew them before he made the world. And he decided that they would be like his son. Then Jesus would be the firstborn* of many brothers and sisters. God planned for them to be like his Son. He chose them and made them right with him. And after he made them right, he gave them his glory.

    Romans 8:31-39 tells us
If God is for us, no one can stand against us. And God is with us. He even let his own son suffer for us. God gave his Son for all of us. So now with Jesus, God will surely give us all things. Who can accuse the people God has chosen? No one! God is the one who makes them right. Who can say that God’s people are guilty? No one! Christ Jesus died for us, but that is not all. He was also raised from death. And now he is at God’s right side, speaking to him for us. Can anything separate us from Christ’s love? Can trouble or problems or persecution* separate us from his love? If we have no food or clothes or face danger or even death, will that separate us from his love? As the Scriptures* say, “For you, we are in danger of death all the time. People think we are worth no more than sheep to be killed.” Psalm 44:22 but in all these troubles, we have complete victory through God, who has shown his love for us. Yes, I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love, not death, life, angels, or ruling spirits. I am sure that nothing now, nothing in the future, no power, nothing above us or nothing below us, nothing in the whole created world will ever be able to separate us from the love God has shown us in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In John 6:35-40, Jesus says, “I am the bread that gives life. No one who comes to me will ever be hungry. No one who believes in me will ever be thirsty. I told you before that you had seen me, and still you don’t believe it. The Father gives me my people. Every one of them will come to me. I will always accept them. I came down from heaven to do what God wants, not what I want. I must not lose anyone God has given me. But I must raise them up on the last day. This is what the one who sent me wants me to do. Everyone who sees the Son and believes in him has eternal life. I will raise them up on the last day. This is what my Father wants.

    2 Timothy 1, 8-10, tell us
Do not be ashamed to tell people about our Lord Jesus. And don’t be ashamed of me. I am in prison for the Lord. But suffer with me for the Good News. God gives us the strength to do that. God saved us and chose us to be his holy people, but not because of anything we ourselves did. God saved us and made us his people because that was what he wanted and because of his grace. That grace was given to us through Christ Jesus before time began. And now it has been shown to us in the coming of our Savior Christ Jesus. He destroyed death and showed us the way to have life. Yes, through the Good News, Jesus showed us the way to have a life that cannot be destroyed.

  • Overcoming Procrastination

    Overcoming Procrastination

Procrastination is the act of unnecessarily delaying or postponing tasks, often doing less important things instead, despite knowing it will lead to negative consequences like stress, guilt, or poor performance.

    How to overcome it?
Pray for wisdom and strength, prioritise tasks aligned with God’s will (seeking the Kingdom first), develop disciplined routines of prayer and scripture, take immediate action, and find accountability in a faith community, focusing on purposeful work for God rather than on laziness or perfectionism.

In the Parable of the Wedding Banquet (Matthew 22:1-14), a king prepares a feast for his son, but the initial guests (Israel) refuse and mistreat the king’s servants (prophets). The king then destroys the unfaithful city and sends his servants to invite everyone from the streets, both good and bad, filling the hall. When the king inspects the guests, he finds one without a proper wedding garment (symbolizing self-righteousness or unworthiness). He has him cast out, concluding that “many are called, but few are chosen,” underscoring that God offers salvation to all, but only those who accept His provision (Christ’s righteousness) are truly prepared for His kingdom.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) teaches the importance of being spiritually prepared for Jesus’s return (the bridegroom’s arrival), comparing the Kingdom of Heaven to ten bridesmaids awaiting him. Five were wise, bringing extra oil for their lamps, while five were foolish and didn’t bring any, leading to them being locked out of the wedding feast when the delayed groom finally arrived. It emphasises: “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 is a powerful call to urgent action, urging believers not to receive God’s grace in vain but to respond to His offer of salvation now, as it’s the “acceptable time” and “day of salvation,” quoting Isaiah 49:8 to emphasize that God has provided help and favor that shouldn’t be ignored or wasted. It’s a plea to embrace active faith and live out God’s gift of grace in a changed life, rather than treating it as a worthless, passive concept.

  • Respecting Parents

    Respecting Parents

    Respecting Parents:
Elders of a family bring wisdom, calm, dependability and unconditional love that frame the views of the broader family and shape the future of younger generations. Elders are like roots of the tree. They hold the family firmly at all times and make them strong. They are the ideal mentor.

    Exodus 20:12, tells us
You must honour and respect your father and your mother. Do this so that you will have a full life in the land that the Lord your God gives you.

    Proverbs 23:22, says
Listen to your father. Without him, you would never have been born. Respect your mother, even when she is old.

    Colossians 3:20, tells us
Children, obey your parents in everything. This pleases the Lord.

    Ephesians 6:1-3, teaches us
Children, obey your parents the way the Lord wants, because this is the right thing to do. The command says, “You must respect your father and mother.” That is the first command that has a promise with it. That promise is: “Then all will go well with you, and you will have a long life on the earth.” Fathers, don’t make your children angry, but raise them with the kind of teaching and training you learn from the Lord.
