Whether facing an ordinary task or a particularly heavy burden, you probably ask God often for the strength to accomplish what He has called you to do. We can ask God for strength because He is the source of all strength and power, and He promises to give strength to His people.

How to Seek God’s Strength?
We can seek God in prayer, asking him to strengthen us when we are weak, needy, or afraid. Talking to God regularly during good times can improve our confidence in approaching him during difficult times.

Psalm 46 is a hymn about God’s power as a refuge and strength in times of chaos and upheaval. God is our protection and source of strength. He is always ready to help us in times of trouble. So we are not afraid when the earth quakes and the mountains fall into the sea. We are not afraid when the seas become rough and dark and the mountains tremble. There is a river whose streams bring happiness to God’s city, to the holy city of God Most High. God is in that city, so it will never be destroyed. He is there to help even before sunrise. Nations will shake with fear and kingdoms will fall when God shouts and makes the earth move. The Lord All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob* is our place of safety. Look at the powerful things the Lord has done. See the awesome things he has done on earth. He stops wars all over the world. He breaks the soldiers’ bows, shatters their spears, and burns their shields. God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.” The Lord All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our place of safety.

Ephesians 6:10-20 says we should be strong in the Lord and in His great power. Wear the full armor of God. Wear God’s armor so that you can fight against the devil’s clever tricks. Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and the authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places. That is why you need to get God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing. So stand strong with the belt of truth tied around your waist, and on your chest wear the protection of right living. On your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you stand strong. And also use the shield of faith with which you can stop all the burning arrows that come from Evil One. Accept God’s salvation as your helmet. And take the sword out of the spirit that sword is the teaching of God. Pray in the spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all of God’s people. And pray for me that when I speak God will give me words so that I call tell the secret truth about the Good News without fear. I have the work of speaking for that Good News, and that is what I am doing now, here in prison. Pray that when I tell people the Good News, I will speak without fear as I should.

We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father will provide us with comfort and strength in all good things we do and say, as mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17. God loved us and gave us, through his grace, a wonderful hope and comfort that has no end.
